Yeah, I know there haven’t been very many updates with my Juggy project in Jp Magazine. I’ve been sidetracked by at least four other projects since the start. But I have been, on occasion, pecking away at the little jobs that need to get done. After literally popping the Poison Spyder fuel tank while checking for leaks (5-10 psi of air is a little too much apparently). I decided to shoehorn in an RCI 15-gallon aluminum fuel cell (part number RCI-2161A 30Lx9Wx12H) from Summit Racing. At the time I bought it this was the only one that would fit well. I had to modify the filler neck though. Now Summit has a bunch that would work. Part number RCI-2172A would be a good fit and get me 2 more gallons, but I prefer deeper tanks to shallow ones. It keeps the electric fuel pump pickup submerged better in off-camber situations. Which helps the pump live longer. At least in my experience. There is also a similar 12-inch high 19-gallon tank that looks more promising. Anyway, this one is now mounted with steel straps and is most of the way plumbed. Just need the vent fitting and line installed. Once I get the thing driving, if it turns out that 15-gallons isn’t enough, I’ll look into installing a larger tank or learn to walk. I figure the LS1 should get at least 10mpg so it should be fine…especially since I don’t really plan to drive it on the street. -John Cappa
