What is your favorite Turkey recipe?

You know you have tried some wierd off the wall method of cooking your holiday bird, share it with us!

My most exotic bird was cooked Thanksgiving 2005, last year. We Pit Roasted it. Yup, exactly like that pig you had at the luau in Hawaii. We dug a large pit, lined the bottom with big rock, lined the sides with normal red bricks and had a huge fire in it the night before and buried the coals in the hole that night. The next morning we dug out the coals, put our prepared bird in the hole and buried it with sand. Let it cook for 10-12 hours and we had the best Turkey EVER!

1. Ehhh...that seems like a lot of time and work. Although I have had one that way.

One of the best was last year for me (of course mom makes the best turkey). A buddy cooked it in a small propane stove with an oventop. It looked like an upside-own pot. The bird sits feet down in the stove top, neck up, kinda like it's standing. An open can of beer is shoved inside the rear (this also helps stabilize the bird) and then it's cooked. Only takes 2-3 hours. Way faster than any other method except frying it. Oh and super tasty and moist.

2. Interesting.

Probably the strangest bird I have had was one done in an oven like normal but with fruit in the cavity instead of stuffing. Made for a sweet and citrus tasting bird.

I know I know... I got to live more.
