Yep, it's pretty much dead here. Just about everybody skipped town to hit the desert race and the Laughlin Leap an hour or so away. Good news is there are some cool new products coming soon. And the JK market has lots to be happy about. Keep your eye out for Currie Enterprise's long-travel JK kit that simply consists of some small leveling spacers, brake lines, heavy-duty swaybar extensions, and shocks. The company also had a prototype bolt-in stainless exhaust system that looked pretty sweet which moved the muffler to a mid-ship location instead of the rear. A bolt on tow bar mount/skidplate was also on display. Light Racing should have some nitrogen bumpstops for Jeep applications very shortly. The company offers some really cool accessories to allow the air bumps to be used in nearly any application if you’re a fairly competent fabricator.
Advance Adapters now has components and even the engine to swap an International diesel into a Jeep. Also on display was the shifter for a JK Atlas transfer case swap and a GM 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission conversion for nearly any Jeep/engine/transfer case combo (yep, shorter than a TH350 but with an overdrive!) Nice! We spotted some Poison Spyder JK rocker guards and word on the street is the JK tube fenders are coming soon! Also spotted (but hidden in a trailer) was the brand new BFG Mud Terrain due out in September. We weren't allowed to take a photo but it looks a little like the Krawler but less aggressive with features that will cater to the snow and ice crowd. Not all new but we also spotted STaK's Dana 300 replacement case. Looks like a really stout replacement case for the cast iron unit. An International Texas-pattern Dana 300 case replacement is in the works and should be available soon. It'll be perfect for those that run the factory Jeep T-18 and want to replace the original Dana 20 without a bunch of adapters or transmission disassembly. Fab-Fours was hiding an unfinished Hemi-powered JK, only this wasn't a regular ol' 345hp 5.7L V-8. This is the whiz-bang SRT-8 6.1L V-8 punching out 425hp and 420lb-ft! Keep your eyes peeled for more show details and images in an upcoming issue of Jp Magazine.
