A week and a half before leaving on a 500+ mile road trip I fianlly begin the installation of the Evil Truck's new engine.  What's it gonna be?

Smoke show 350

I named my '68 M-715 The Evil Truck because the freebie Chevy 350 engine I installed in it makes about 90hp on a good day, burns 1.5 quarts of oil every 10-15 miles, and fouls plugs like nothing else on the planet.  Yet it's remained inside the engien compartment.  It's not that I'm lazy, it's just that I've got several other projects that don't run at all.  Running with a smoke show and the need to add oil more frequently than gas trumps not running at at.  However, the level of smoke from the tailpipes had just become too comical and I started fearing intervention from the local CHP.  So, I'm yanking the wheezer and installing a new engine so the truck will be ready for Jp's officially unofficial OD Military Convoy and TDS Desert Safari this year.  If you're dying to know which engine I went with, tune in to a future issue of Jp or just catch us in the Southern California desert the first week of March.
