Patriot? Rubicon?

Is it an omen? Is it fate? A vision of things to come? What could it be?

This street sign was spotted by my partner in crime (read: co-worker Ed) and he just had to take a photo of it.

Things like this just don't happen randomly. There has to be something bigger behind it. Conspiracy? Maybe. Are the folks at Jeep trying to secretly tell us something? There has to be a reason this sign is here!

What do YOU think the sign means? Are we just nuts? or is this part of a super-secret plot by the folks at Jeep?

1. I think it is an bad omen that represents the divergence in Jeep products. On one hand you have the traditional off-roaders, on the other hand you have cars with seven slot grilles. That's my theory and I am sticking to it!

2. I think it represents an intersection that Jeep needs to decide where it's going. Is it going to stick to what it knows best: hard-core off-road vehicles, or are they going to dabble in making car-based cute utes? (Which having driven the Compass, they do very poorly, IMHO.) I say they should stick with the former.

3. I hope The Daimler gets the message. Based on the out of control sales of the Wrangler 4-door and the poor sales on the other non-enthusiast Jeeps you’d think someone could figure this out. I mean really, what's the difference between say the Commander or Compass and the 4-door JK? Of course the convertible is one aspect to consider but the capability has got to be an important factor. The people at Jeep just need to figure that out. The bummer is that many of the people at the helm are not Jeep enthusiasts. They are like the rest of America. They are simply there for a pay check. We see it as an opportunity to create a cool vehicle people will like; they see it as a job that puts food on the table. We need enthusiasts designing and marketing our new Jeeps!... Can we have a Jeep pick-up truck now? Please?
