Compared to the rest of Los Angeles I live in a relatively rural area. In the past I had to defend my yard from rabid ground squirrels. Those little vermin dig up everything. I pretty much have them under control now. The one that's left in the yard doesn't have a tail so he kinda looks like a hamster. He has a tendency to jump into the warm engine compartments of my Jeeps. One morning when I started the Jeep I heard an awful ruckus under the hood but though nothing of it figuring some leaves or something had gotten caught in the electric fan. Apparently it was this squirrel's tail. Anyway, I recently planted some Horsetail in my yard. I read on the all-knowing internet that this plant has no natural enemies. Somebody should tell the rabbit in my yard that. He's been nibbling one plant a day down to the nubbins. I suspect there will be another plant gone when I come home from work today. So the hunt is on.
