Ever try to fit tires on a Jeep that had no business having those tires on it?  We have...

I have had this brilliant idea for a while of moving the rear inner fenderwells up on my YJ.  I figured that space isn't really being used, why not open it up for a bigger tire?  Well, we already put 35's on a TJ with no lift, so we needed to up the ante.  The thing of it is, I don't want to comp cut the body.  From the rear, I want it to look normal.  So, I'm not sure the rediculously huge tire will fit in the rear.  It obviously fits the front, but rubs turning either way.  I'll modify the front so there is more up-travel than it has now, but the axle really should be wider, or find rims with less backspacing.

In theory, this should be easy.  Take a sawzall, cut away a lot of body, and bolt up really huge tires.  Even in just driving around the neighborhood, there was a bunch of things that will need attention once the big honking tires are on there.  Now, it seems obvious what with the Jeep not wanting to stop, or steer, or a few other things it no longer wanted to do (I think I heard the 4-cylinder laughing at me when I put it in gear)

Ah well, stay tuned for more hammer and sawzall games.
