OK, I got the body on and I half expected this.

The suspension isn't low enough. I missed by a long shot. I mean it came down a good 4-5 inches. But I need it down another 10 to get it how I want it. So back to the drawling board. I have to cut off everything I just did.

1. Despite the siplicity of the project its funny how complicated things can get. You might wanna try channeling the body to get it to sit lower. Thats one good trick. Another good trick is to cut the frame after the front suspension and again in front of the rear suspension and raise these parts of the frame up while lowering the center. To do it to a jeep will be dificult but once you get the stance right it will be worth it.

2. You can also flip the springs upside down and then mount the axel "spring over"- I saw this done to a lowered Sammie back in the late 80's during the mini-truck explosion. (Wow- if ever there was a time-frame I’d like to expunge from my memory!)

4. I have seen the springs flipped on other rods but that won't work for me. A body mount is in the way and I'd still have to redo the shackle end. My best bet seems to be a Z'd frame. I have to cut way into the body tub as well. The rear axle needs to essentially sit on top of the rear frame rails. Then it will be low enough. I'm gonna think about it for a while. In the meantime, I have ordered some stuff to work on my never-ending Juggy project.

5. Keep us updated with some good pics. I was at a car show this weekend and some guy took a vw beetle and made it into a rat rod, it acctually looked really good.
