Miller Passport

Today the Miller Welder people stopped by our building to show us some of their newest trinkets. The one that really caught my eye was the Millermatic Passport. It's a complete MIG welder that's all held up in a small suitcase. One of its coolest features is that it runs off of 110V or 220V power. You could run it off a motorhome generator!

The company also showed the brand new Millermatic 140 enthusiast welder with some pretty cool features that makes welding even easier for first timers. There was another new product that we were not yet allowed to talk about but we did get a chance to use it. Keep your eyes out for it in the new-products section of Jp Magazine.

Some of the larger welders such as the older 210 and 251 have been updated and improved with new features. Now named the 212 and 252. The 212 is perfect for the heavy fabricator that will weld on axle housings occasionally.

Also on my dream shop list is the Spectrum 375 X-Treme plasma cutter. It's a tiny reasonably-priced unit that will cut up to and over 3/8-inch thick steel. I probably really need a larger cutter but I like the small 18-pound size of the 375. Go to www.millerwelds.com to see the latest offerings.
