Driveway Action Shot!

The Evil Truck Yet Again

I finally built my '68 M-715 into a reliable rig for exploring trails and street driving - as long as I don't need to go faster than 55mph.  Naturally I'm diving in and messing that all up.

I frequently get asked, "why does it say Text and Photos by Christian Hazel when I can clearly see you in the pictures?"  Well, cameras have a timer and we own tripods.  I timed this one just right to catch the NP200 plummeting mercilessly towards the driveway from my M-715.

So what's going in its place?  You'll have to tune in to the May '08 issue of Jp Magazine to see why I'm yanking a perfectly good transmission and t-case from my antique army truck.

I used the enging hoist to take the tranny out, though.

4. No doubt. Normally I'd have been under there with one leg and one arm holding up the t-case while undoing bolts with the other hand. Then I would've pressed the whole stupid thing down to my chest, rolled out from under it, then dragged it out from under the truck. But you can't shoot photos of yourself doing it that way. Plus, this way was a lot more fun.

5. i guess if you don't have any plans for that part, it is fun to just let them plop onto the driveway. i've already done the discus throw with worn out brake rotors. (don't do this while the dogs around)

6. hey there! I am the process of doing an engine swap on my M715, (Chevy 350) and since you are all there now, I have a question on the subject: as for the engine bolt on to the original transmission, will I need a special transmission bellhousing? and who sells such a thing?
thank you for any info on this subject.
