Cherokee with Olive Drab Couch

Cherokee, the new moving van

So, why might you be asking is the XJ loaded to the gills, if I've got a 715?  Why am I moving furniture at night?  Why does the couch match the big military truck?

Glad you asked.  When I left the house this morning to go in to the office, I was debating taking the XJ or the M-715.  See, if you read my last blog, you know I'm on the hunt for furniture.  And, if you want cheap used furniture, LA is the the place to be.  So, I was thinking of taking the 715 in just in case I found something on Craig's list.

Stuffed inside too
Yeah, its OD

Well, I didn't take the 715 in, as I wasn't planning on looking on Craig's List.  I needed to get the XJ cleaned from Moab and there is a place in town that does inside and out, with armor all and scent, if you want for 20 bucks.   So, the XJ goes to LA.

Then, I get an email from my girlfriend, Missy with this couch from Z Gallerie (I don't know why that is significant) for 80 bucks.  It's a couch, I'm facing a long weekend of story writing from home, and the laptop in a camp chair has a very limited life cycle.

I decide, the heck with it, I want that couch.  The girl on the other end says its Olive colored and I couldn't wait to get there.  Well, I get there, its on the third floor, and it looks to be the size of the Cherokee. I don't care.  And I don't care that its 50 miles to get it home, 35 of which is freeway, and I've got an 8 foot by 4 foot couch on the roof, one rear shock missing, and one that is shot.

Let's just say it was a fun ride home.  Oh, and don't even get me started on unloading the thing on my own in the dark.

Oh, and the OD color is coincedental, but now I can claim that I have a drive in movie theatre seat for the back of the 715.
