So my new top speed driven has been bumped up a bit from the previous 120 MPH in a Grand Cherokee.

I recently drove an '09 Dodge Viper 140 mph on a close course. It's pretty sweet ride and a very aggressive car, but not something I'd want to go long distances in. Anyway, I also had the chance to get behind the wheel of the '09 Wranglers (sorry no diesel, no V-8, and no really major changes), an '09 SRT Grand Cherokee, the '09 SRT 6.1L Hemi Challenger, the Charger, and a few other '09 Chrysler vehicles. For me, the SRT Grand was the most fun to drive. Not only was it quick and fast, it was comfortable. Even in four-wheel drifts it never felt like it was out of control. Certainly thanks to the all-wheel drive. If you ever get a chance to drive an SRT Grand, take it!

1. Very cool. I owned an '06 Charger SRT8 for a little while, before I realized I'm really just a Wrangler guy at heart and traded it in for a '08 Rubicon 2dr. There's something about putting it to the wood and watching the speedo hop up that you can't get any other way.

Was this an event, like the SRT driving school thing?

2. Nah. Chrysler invited him in hopes he'd kill himself planting that Charger into the wall at 140mph. That's pretty much the only way he'll quit making fun of the Liberty and Compass.

3. Nah, it was the Chrysler What's New for '09 event. Pretty much a media free-for-all. I saw several editors spin out in spendy cars while driving over their heads. Oh, and I didn't get the Charger up to 140. Only the Viper. I just don't have a pic it. I was too busy with the wheel and shifter.
