A friend recently informed me of an auction for 158 brand spankin' new 2.8L VM Motori diesel engines. HERE:

It looks like they are manual transmission versions perhaps for an overseas Wrangler application. It could mean that Mopar has axed the crate diesel engine program it had considered earlier this year. Are they dumping the crate diesel plan or just the inventory? Is the Cummins diesel that might be available in a Wrangler for 2010 a better swapper for the Mopar line? We'll keep ya posted.
