My brother finally sold his Dodge WC52 weapons carrier. You might be wondering what that has to do with me. Well, a lot actually.

He bought the incomplete truck 15 years ago and pieced it together while he lived in Vista, California. He even got it running and driving, although it had a tendency to vapor-lock. Eventually he moved into the house we grew up in, in Carlsbad, CA, and it followed him there. He worked on other projects and the truck sat dormant in the yard for some time. He moved to Los Angeles and left the WC with our mother. Many years later he had to actually cut down a tree that had grown in the way of the truck when it was time to move it into the garage. Our mother could no longer stand seeing it in the yard. Over the years he won a few bets with people who did not believe it would start. It always did. Eventually my brother moved to Michigan. A couple years later Mom wanted the truck out of her house. So this is where I came in. I winched it up onto my trailer with a Hi-Lift Jack and towed it 120-miles north to the house my brother and I own in Valencia, CA. And there it's been sitting ever since. I think it's been here three years now. I start it now and then and charge the battery. I plan on moving soon so I told him he should sell it. Two days after I took pictures for him he listed it on E-bay. Today it sold to the perfect buyer, a military vehicles dealer. It'll be gone soon but I made my last rounds. The fuel in the tank was bad so I drained it and put in some fresh gas, changed the fuel filter and ran it for a while. The master cylinder is shot, the brake pedal goes to the floor but you can use the E-brake, you just have to be quick with your hands and feet to drive it. I'll miss it, even though it wasn't mine. I always wanted to take it on a road trip, or even just for a short drive to the beach. We never did because it never really ran all that great. I hope to see it restored properly someday. Even if only in photos. It's headed for the East coast.
