Cool Throttle Bodies

Hemi Fuel Injection

I recently saw this fuel injection setup at Rubicon Express it was on an all aluminum late-model hemi engine.  With no butterfly in the throttle body, WOT has no impediment for air flow.

On this particular engine, which was likely pushing 1000hp, there were 4 of these bad boys with 2 for each bank of cylinders, 2 feeding each cylinder.  It is weird after so many years of looking down the throats of carbs and throttle bodies to see nothing between the eye and the intake on the head.  You can see in the second picture straight on through.  We are told that they are still very much in development stages, but that there are some thoughts of making this kit available for all V-8 engines.

And, oh, we asked about off-idle throttle response, as we thought it might suffer with the amount of air that can be moved, but surprisingly (to the guys testing and to us) the off-idle response had less of a dead zone than a regular throttle body did.
