If you only knew what we went through to bring you the quality content each and every month (and each day in the case of JpMagazine.com) you would have a lot more respect for us. Ok, well maybe not but it may just reinforce that notion that we're all nuts.
Like I said, it was hot today. Why we picked the hottest month of the year to test exhaust systems on a Jeep with a black top and no A/C is beyond me. It's all good though, things are still going well.
To give you an idea of just how hot things are around here I snagged Pete's nifty little infrared temperature gauge and pointed it at a few things.
First thing is the ambient air temp, when I took the reading it was 99.1 degrees out, this was bout 3:15pm. At the same time I took a reading off of the concrete driveway we have been laying on working under the Jeep, it read 123.9 degrees. The next fun one was inside the Jeep, remember it has no A/C and we're recording interior sound bytes with the windows zipped up. It was 122.9 degrees inside of the Jeep, and rightfully so as Pete and I were sweating our butts off. And lastly, the reason I have time to be writing this blog, the exhaust system (particularly the muffler flange) after being driven for about 15min of testing registered a temp of 356 degrees. Yea, it's hot!
So that's that, its now time to get back under the Jeep and swap out another exhaust, next us the Banks Monster Exhaust, I hope it sounds as good as it looks because it's beautiful!
Anywho, I leave you with some photos of the temp gauge as proof of the heat, and one of the Jeep cruising the trail with one of the exhausts on it, look for sound bytes on JpMagazine.com in the near future...
