Win some, lose some. Jerome and I failed at our ultimate goal of getting the Pioneer AVIC-N1 working. We think we suceeded in the parts replacement we engaged in, but there are other issues apparently at hand here that we didn't know about going in.
It is not for lack of effort... we actually succeeded in getting all the little tiny parts back where they belonged with no spares left over.
And, the unit still powers up.
However, the screen doesn't rotate up to the proper viewing angle, and we have determined that until it does, the screen won't come on anyway. The cable replacement was to fix teh screen not lighting up. Somewhere between removal and repair however, it appears that one of the quite fragile motors died.
