There's always another use for a well built Jeep. Today I added the title, "tug" to my M-715.
Granted, it's not the 7.17-geared airport tugs the military usually used, but it's geared plenty-low enough to finesse any trailer into a tight spot.
I finally got off my arse and broke out the plasma cutter. I took some trailer hitch stock my local steel supplier sells and cut off a 4-inch chunk. I drilled a 11/16-inch hole for the hitch pin, then traced the outline of the hitch material where I wanted it to go.
Took about 20-seconds for the Miller Spectrum 625 plasma cutter to chew through the 1/4-inch thick front bumper the previous owner hung on the framerails. I cleaned it up with a cutoff wheel and buzzed in my hitch. Now I can cleanly squeeze my car hauler and boat onto the side of my house with no worry of scratching the boat's gelcoat on the retaining wall. And when the drop hitch isn't installed I can put my Warn shackle hanger in there.
