Parts here and Parts there

If you've been reading my blogs this week, you've seen I picked up a Scrambler.  I've wanted one for quite a while, and finally nabbed one.  Granted, its not in even decent shape, but I have the VIN plates and the title matches them.

People keep asking me what I'm going to do with it and how its going to get built... the short answer is, I don't know.

I am not allowed to keep any non-running or non-registered vehicles at my place, and since when I got the Jeep it was basically a tub, frame, and axles you can see how there might be a problem.

Fortunately, I've got a 20-foot trailer, and I'm now in NJ, where I spent about 10 years buying, "fixing" Jeeps, and accumulating parts.  With networking and a huge stash of parts I've pigeonholed over the years in NJ, I've lined up or have most of the parts I think I might need to put this Jeep back on the road.

The first picture is the shape it was in when I traded the winch.  The front clip came from my buddy Mike Simpson, who also drove to Kentucky to actually pick the Jeep up for me.  The YJ doors were a trade I set up remotely between my buddy Tom and my girlfriend Missy went to get them.  Soon to come (before I hit CA): an engine, a t-case, a transmission, a steering box, and on and on.

Just a little rust.

I lined up so many trades for this Jeep from parts I had sitting around that it makes a basement full of parts worth it.  And, thanks to all my friends for helping me stay within the terms of my lease agreement.
