J2008 on the plate

Yanking the 232

I hate turning a running Jeep into a driveway ornament, but yesterday I yanked the drivetrain of the J2008.

jeep 232 engine

Sure, the engine doesn't make any oil pressure and the lack of an overdrive means it's got a top speed of about 60mph, but the truck did run exceptionally sweet. It fired right up, pulled harder than you'd think a 232 should pull, got 17mpg, and didn't ever stumble or hiccup.

Regardless, out came the 232, T-14, and Daan 20. I'm pretty broke right now, so I'll probably sell off the tranny and t-case, although I've been itching to see how they'd survive behind a blown big block in a sand Jeep. The engine is currently up on craigslist with a price of FREE. I just want it gone, so I'm throwing in the carb, manifolds, fan, starter, and everything else. Some guy is supposed to swing by today to take it away before one of my kids knocks it over and gets hurt.
