While sorting out some of the photos from my J2000 engine swap I started figuring how many times I've used my Harbor Freight engine hoist to yank or install an engine.
I got my hoist sometime around '00. Or thereabouts. I can't really remember, but I started adding up all the engines I've either pulled or installed with it. I think it's over 20 in the last 8 years, but I'm positive I'm leaving at least a couple out. Regardless, here's the list I came up with off the top of my head.
Pulled - Chevy 305 from '53 DJ-3A
Installed /Pulled - Caddy 500 in DJ-3A
Installed/Pulled - 4.6L Northstar in DJ-3A
Installed - 3.5L Shortstar in DJ-3A
Pulled/Installed - 22RE in '85 4Runner
Pulled - 318 from '85 Ramcharger
Installed/Pulled - Caddy 500 in '85 Ramcharger
Installed - Magnum 360 in '85 Ramcharger
Pulled/Installed (partially) 460 in '89 F-250
Pulled - Buick 225 from '71 CJ-5
Installed - Buick 225 in '71 CJ-6
Pulled - Chevy 194 from '48 Willys pickup
Pulled - Olds 455 from '69 Cutlass
Pulled - 4.0L from '99 XJ
Installed - 4.6L into '99 XJ
Installed/Pulled - '71 Camaro 350 in '68 M-715
Installed - GMPP 350 into '68 M-715
Pulled - 232 from '68 J2000
And I'll soon be installing the 4.0L into the J2000, the Olds 455 into the '48 Willys, pulling the 2.5L from my Wrangler, and installing some monster V-8 back into it.
I'd say I'm getting my money out of that little engine hoist, wouldn't you?
