Today I cut up and hauled away the very first Jeep I ever owned. I had planned on making my hot rod out of it but it turned out that I came across better parts. This one was way too beat The frame and body were wasted, there was zero life left in them for the most part. I did save a few body parts though.
I took the tailgate (it really was in better shape than the rest of the Jeep but far from perfect) and that little round cover found on the driver floor that provides access to the master cylinder. Funny thing is that even it was bent, and get this, from when I rolled my Jeep over backward! If you've ever owned a flattie you'll know how impossible it must seem to bend that round cover. Heck the whole floor was creased. Anyway, I hacked up the frame and body with a Miller plasma cutter, stuffed the bits in the bed of my J-truck, then hauled them to the local metal recycler along with a bunch of other worthless (at least to me) parts that have been sitting around my yard far too long. I had over 1,000 pounds of scrap steel including the Jeep.
