Would you believe I've only got $300 into this YJ?
Okay, after buying it for $500, selling off the Bestop sliding upper doors for $200 I've got a YJ for $300. I gave it a tune up, fluid change, new hoses, 5 new tires, and some other stuff you'll read about in the April '09 issue. With the new parts and fluids all totalled I've got just under $1011 into it, including the registration fees.
It drives sooo sweet, gets close to 20mpg, and the seats are even comfy. I pulled the doors off, rolled up the rear window, and it's a pleasure to drive. It's now my kids' favorite vehicle to ride in. I washed it and threw a little wax on the paint and it now shines like new.
It's only a matter of time until I doink it all up. In fact, the boxes are already arriving at my house for this Wrangler's transformation. What lies in store for it? You'll just have to read about it in the 2009 spring/summer issues of Jp. I'll give you a hint - notice the Wrangler badges in the rear have been removed.
