It's not like I live where it snows. I have to drive 20 or so miles to get to it. But the cool part is Cal Trans often closes one of the highway life-lines of California when the sky does drop the white stuff. Right around the Grapevine, in Lebec, the freeway gets quite a bit of snow (by California standards of course) on occasion. About 50 miles of the freeway is closed when this happens. But there is a back way up there. I've only done it once but it was way worth the trip. I was the only one on I-5 with about a foot and a half of snow. With all four lanes to myself I was able to do doughnuts and pitch the Jeep sideways. It was a great time and kinda creepy being the only one on the road. Anyway, it's been cold and raining at my house so I'm watching the weather to see if it gets any better...or actually worse I guess.
