Owning multiple vehicles

My Junk Part 3

This is my 1973 J2000. This one took me a while to find. It wasn't exactly what I wanted but I was getting sick of looking for a stepside and since the only things that were missing were cosmetic, I bought it. Mechanically it was almost perfect, but the previous owner had vandalized it with shoddy repairs and modifications which needed undoing. The fact that it was only 40 miles away sealed the deal. For some reason I typically find myself driving at least a state or two away to purchase the Jeep I want. The farthest I've gone for a vehicle? I flew to Seattle once and drove one home. Since this photo was taken I've lifted it 4 inches. I have some much larger 37-inch tires on the way. But this Jeep is still ugly. It has a red front fender, a few dents, and primer spots. I think I'll leave it like that though. It's fun to drive on LA freeways because no one will cut you off for fear of being run into.

The suspension and tire fitting will be in an issue very soon. Nothing super exciting, just getting the best performance on a budget. I also just put in a rear limited slip/locker we're testing.
