Unexpected Rain

Working in a Tent

I didn't get everything done today I wanted to do.  But I did get to work under a tarp.

My day started at 4:30 when I got up and headed to Jeeps R Us to put a 99 and up intake on Project Mileage Master.  Then, I was supposed to take it and run it on the dyno.  But, the intake install took longer than expected and I missed my dyno appointment.

new and old

On the way from Laguna to the dyno, it started raining, and since the dyno gig was cancelled, I went straight home.  Time for the 80-some miles from Laguna to home not during rush hour?  3.5 hours.  Rain shuts down SoCal.

So, after sitting in traffic for so long, I got some good first-hand observations as to where the windshield was leaking from, and decided when I got home I'd use whatever sealant I had left and fix it.  So, I got home, did the whole tarp on the garage over the Jeep deal, and got to it.

The neighbor comes over, looks at my setup, and proceeds to tell me how he was shut down from working all day thanks to the rain.  Then looks around again, and tells me how he sees how coming from NJ makes me better prepared to not let the rain stop me.

Is this that unusual?  I mean, who here hasn't setup a makeshift tent to work on the Jeep?
