It's never gonna be done!

More J2008 setbacks

I've sunk a fair amount of time into the buildup of this stupid truck. Now I'm starting to figure out what I can do with the axles, tranny, and engine. I'll use the rest as kindling.

Eh, I'm just venting. At least I think I am. But today I finished up the last of the wiring and fuel system on the J2000 and tried its first fire. I had already ripped out all the previous owner-botched stereo and HVAC wiring 'cause it was just scary.

Turns out I shouldn't have stopped shy of ripping all the factory wiring out. For some strange reason the fuel pump only comes on when the lights or directionals are turned on. Oh, or the wipers. Did I mention the lights, wipers, and engine management wiring are completely separate? The only common connection they all have together is the battery - and call me stupid, but I can't figure how to get 'em to run without some source of 12V power. Maybe I just need three separate batteries.

Long story short, I've gotta now rip out the rest of the wiring system because after removing the gauge panel it's clear that the lights and wiper system have been mangled beyond any comprehension. I don't know what retarded monkey they got to work on this thing, but he was a few bananas shy of a full bunch.

I dunno. Maybe my time would be better spent taking the Dana 44 axles out of it and running the NV3550 behind a Hemi or built 5.9L. I can find a home for the 4.0L pretty easy and then burn the rest. At least then my kid wouldn't have to ride their bikes around it anymore and my wife could once again park in front of the garage.

What do y'all say? Shoud I soldier on and finish it up or build some crazy 450hp Scrambler or CJ with the parts in this pig?
