Everyone knows I love heavy equipment. Well, I had an opportunity to check out one of the largest agricultural expos in the world. Lots of stuff applies to my industry, but I just liked looking at the tractors trying to figure out what they do and how they do it.

1)
On the way to Tulare I drove through Gorman and Lebec. The last storm brought the snow level way below 4000 feet. Gonna be some good snow wheeling this weekend! Another storm is supposed to be on the way too!

I don't know much about tractors except I want one. I need this one. Although I learned 10,000 hours is a lot so it was probably pretty well worn. Only $86,000.

Me showing a hydrostatic wheel motor and brake system some love. Look at the ground clearance! My J-truck needs this setup!

This would be perfect for LA traffic!

"Oh, excuse me, was that your Prius I just smashed into a cute little cube, sorry about that, I don't have insurance."

I had no idea what this was at first. It looked like a freakin' transformer in mid transformation. The cockpit is lowered to the ground via hydraulics and then raises up once the operator gets in. Apparently it's used to mix mulch piles. I think it would be perfect for herding cats.

This is a Cummins 4BT, could be a good diesel engine for a Jeep. Only $4,200.

The large Case tractors were capable of running on 100% biodiesel. Kinda cool. Just in case anyone is doing early Christmas shopping for me, this will do nicely, thanks! $255,000.

This is actually an engine. It spins at 350 rpm and ran like crap. It only made 8hp but it was sold by Sears from 1900-1915 and doesn't have spark plugs. It's technically a diesel that runs on gas. A friend informed me of the following: "dad gave me the low-down while we were looking at it. its called a hit-n-miss engine-it misses and the heavy flywheel carries speed. then it hits (when it popped) and that kicks up the rpm again. if you watched it you could see it speed up when it hit."

This is a people grinder. Nahh, not really. It grabs and chews up brush.
