Holding the body together

The reason for the thrashing

My doors didn't close parallel to the body, and I was told that was because the floor had fatigued to the point of the "bedsides" not being perpendicular to the floor anymore.

So, my original plan was to put a simple hoop in the Jeepster, ala the stock factory optional hoop and pull the body back in and attach the bed sides to the hoop so the doors closed correctly.

New to me rollbar

I didn't want a hoop, I'm not planning on wheeling this thing that hard, and would have left the no roll bar look for the retro/stock look that makes this thing cool.  Problem was I wanted my doors to close. So, after pulling the carpet so I didn't  burn it welding, it all went downhill... and resulted in what you saw in the last few blogs.

I had some changes in mind for my roll bar, in that I wanted to move the front seats back, and the stock location would have interfered, so the tubes got sunk in the body cavity where there convertible's rear windows would have gone.  Also, instead of bolting it to the sheetmetal, it got welded.  And, I tried for maximum headroom since I already look a bit like I'm piloting a clown car anyway and headroom was an issue.

Since I don't have a bender, this is the reason I went to Cody's place in  the first place: a simple hoop build.  Cody called Amos, the guy with the tube experiance and this is what we ended up with.  Notice the new floor pans in the background.
