The YJ on 40s project was kind of cobbled together from a bunch of junkyard parts and was 6 colors on Wed. Today it is all one color.
With a 3-day thrash fest to tear the Jeep apart, sand it, sand it some more, and prep it for paint- it is now painted all one color.
It was a learning experiance, that's for sure. Let's just say, 3 days isn't enough to turn a bunch of boneyard parts into a comprehensive Jeep. If we'd taken a week, we'd have had much better results. As it was, some airbrushing needed to be used to hide some of the worse spots in the paint thanks to new and old body work.
I already know that both Cappa and Hazel will ride me for painting a Jeep without an engine, and then going on with the airbrushing, but it really was the best way to go. I wanted the firewall and inner fenders to match the Jeep, so pulled the engine back out and stripped it down for a better than factory paint job. Until I chip the hell out of it, you'd think it came this color from the factory.
