Powering my other toy

60,000 rpm

My new toy just came today. I've been compiling parts for my Losi Truggy 1/8-scale RC car as I can afford them.

Anyway, it's a brushless motor, speed control, and LiPo battery. This small fist-sized motor spins at 60,000 rpm and makes 5-6 horsepower! It draws 75 amps continuous and can peak at more than 125 amps! That's a lot of power in a small package. Eventually our Jeeps will likely use similar technology. But for now it's still a little too expensive to be made full-size.
