I went to the garage to install some parts today and got sidetracked cleaning up the mess in my shop that's been slowly closing in on me for 2 years.
All I had to do was regap some plugs and throw a bikini top on the YJ. Then I was gonna hit some trails on my mountain bike. Only my toolbox was blocked by some boxes I had lazily set in front of if. To make a spot for the boxes, I needed to move stuff in the shed, which led to a whole domino effect of crap stacking, moving, shuffling, and tossing stuff out.
So, rather than slack through an easy install, I spent the day sweating in a 100-degree wooden shed and slinging through boxes of greasy T-case and axle parts. Now my shed is mostly reorganized and cleaned of all the junk I for some reason hung on to. My garage is a lot more organized with more room to work, a spot next to the built Olds 455 for the welder, and a ton of clutter cleared off my shelves. Hell, I even organized my nuts and bolts for the first time in over 2 years and straightened up my scrap metal bins that I throw remnant tubing and plate in for later use.
With all this free space in the garage I'm getting the itch to get back to fabricating on Overkill. I think I'll hit the trails tomorrow, then I'll build some stands to support the chassis so I can rip out the current axles and suspension.
