Not Jeep Cherokee!

Top Clunker?

The top clunker in this facocked cash for clunkers scheme might not be a Jeep Cherokee... but I've sure been seeing a lot of pictures and videos with Cherokees concerning the program.

So the top "clunker" is a Ford Exploder, taking 6 of the top ten spots.

Oh, for those of you who don't know what it is, basically the gov't will give you 4500 for an old car that was rated under a certain mileage if you buy a new car that is rated over a certain mileage. And, the masses are jumping on it like mad.

No one has stopped to think what the actual carbon footprint of a new vehicle vs a vehicle that is already made is like, or the fact that the next "housing crisis" is coming our way now in the auto market...

But the thing that really gets me is what is happening to these so called clunkers. They destroy good cars and trucks. Or at least rigs that many of us would be happy to have and drive daily. They pour this junk in the engine that is like liquid glass which seizes it beyond all repair. If you look around you tube, you can find freon being dumped into the atmosphere, a make shift demo derby and more. Yeah, helping the environment

Another car in a dumpster.

. OH, the best part- its coming out of our tax dollars.

Here are a few pics off a web site I'm on, and a bunch of video off You-Tube. Enjoy. Or not, whatever.

Here's a vid of killing what is hailed as an 85 Jeep, but is clearly no older than 87.

Here' s the msn article my lead picture came from. (click here!!)

Here is a vid of the death of a good '93 HO motor dying an early death

Here's another XJ killed.

How about a WJ???? With a V-8!
