Jeep Chix - Have We Gone Too Far?

Have we finally crossed the line?

If you flip to the back of the November 2009 issue of Jp Magazine you'll see Sideways - Jeep Chix Edition. Now this is nothing new for us as we've been running Jeep Chix for years, and Jeep Chix Sideways off and on for the past six months or so. But when I opened up this months issue I had to do a double take at the amount of 'rear cleavage' one of the photos was showing.

This got me wondering, what do you guys think? Have we gone too far? Or is this perfectly acceptable for Jp Magazine?

I'll give my thought on the subject later, I want to hear yours first.

1. In this biz, pageviews are king, and human nature hasn't changed. Whatever works, I suppose.

2. This is outrageous and not acceptable for a print publication! Of course sex sells, but this opens up a whole new can of worms! Chicks with Jeeps - muddy, sweaty, in the driver's seat - that's hot. Some dude's wife in front of his Jeep? It's not even hers. Keep it in the bedroom, thanks!

3. I agree with 5569. The three chicks in the old CJ were way hotter anyway, so why run the photo of the chick in the thong? Looks like it belongs in a Whitesnake video, not Jp.

5. this pic is a little on the trashy side but it would take pictures way worse than that to make me write an angry letter or cancel my subscription so if you feel the need to print em go for it, i'll just skip over the girls that arn't thong quality... haha

it really is that simple... these people that write all the angry letters might should find something better to write about.... i mean it's not hard to just act like a grown up and flip the page when you read something you don't like.... to cancel an entire subscription just because a picture in the back bothered you is crazy.... having said that keep printing said angry letters, they're funny!!!

6. Gone way too far. Sex sales is pushed into our kid's faces from every direction as it is. Can there not be one magazine/website that is decent for the entire family to view?

7. I find plenty of other sites and magazines to keep me busy with my Jeep hobby. I do this because I don't care for the "sex sells" approach of throwing women on the pages.

I only wander over here when someone directly refers me to an article and was really glad to see that you guys are even thinking about this!

You have enough solid Jeep content that you don't need the rest. If you need your sex fix, go to a site that sells that directly, there are plenty of those!

9. Too far? I honestly don't care, but maybe the people writing in should take a look at some of Bree's pics. They were just as far, but they kept their subscription through all that. Only difference is that one was the front and the other the back but actually had a Jeep in the picture.

13. I agree. I thought the shot of the three gals in the primered CJ was family-friendly, cool, and fun...while THIS shot was not family-friendly, cool, or fun. I feel bad for this gal who apparently needs so much attention she lets herself be photographed in such a trashy way. Is she a stripper? Porn star?

Its a sad day in America when young women have to show everything they have in order to feel appreciated or attractive.
