Banged out some uber-heavy-duty motor mounts today. No photos 'cause I'm not finished with the mounts, but they'll be stout enough to handle the rigors of prerunning and the 750hp/850lb-ft the 455 will spit out when I whack the Nitrous button.
I even slung the 455 between the framerails to check for fitment. Looks like it'll have plenty of clearance. To work with the suspension and to better the center of gravity when the truck is in the air, I'm gonna lay the engine back about 12 inches from where it is in these photos.
It took almost a full hour to grind nearly 62 years of rust, scale, and grime from the framerails, but now I've got a clean place to work off of. Next time I get a second I'll cut away the firewall to clear the valve covers and then work on positioning the engine where it'll finally get mounted.
