Parking Problems

Time to Cull the Herd

Parking is once again at a premium at the old Hazel compound and it's got me thinking it may be time to start cutting one or two out of the herd.

Right now I've got 8 vehicles here. That's not the most ever. I used to have 11, but that was before I had my boat. That sucker takes up more than 2 Jeep's parking spaces.

I have to squeeze my Dodge Cummins, M-715, '99 Cherokee, and '89 YJ on the side of the driveway in my little parking alcove. The boat sits at the back of my RV parking on the side of my house. The '73 Commando is in front of the boat, and my Carson car hauler trailer is in front of the Commando. Then, the '53 flattie and '48 Willys pickup are in the garage. My wife parks in front of the garage, as does the nanny on the days she works, which leaves me precious little space to get any actual wrenching done.

I think it's time to start cutting a few of these things from the fleet. I hate to do it 'cause I consider it finished now and cruising season is coming fast, but I may put the M-715 up on eBay. But what to cut next? I'm not finished with the YJ, I just got the XJ back and haven't even really started into that project. The Commando is gonna be my beater. It now runs and the tranny parts are in the mail, so it's hard to kill that one.

For all the ribbing I give Cappa about his "dirt lot house" at least he's got room for a fleet of projects. Maybe my next vehicle should be a small Cat bullzoder.
