Its a good thing I don't have more cash laying around or I'd own this right now. And I need more vehicles like another hole in the head.
That said this '68 Kaiser M-35 might be the coolest truck around. Hundy builds and sells these bobbed Deuces for $7,500 and while I was out there picking up HMMWV rims and getting tires mounted, I got a chance to go out in the bobbed deuce.
Using M-105 trailer parts, he pulls the tag axles out, yanks the bed, chops the frame, reinstalls the stock rear crossmember and then uses the trailer bed and springs, along one of the stock rear axles to make these beasts.
It rides better than the other deuces I've been in and he's built and sold about 15 of them now. The tires were over inflated for road use, which is why it didn't hook so well off road, but it was easy to drive on-road, even with manual steering and brakes, comparable in steering and braking effort to my Jeepster actually. The size would take a little while to get used to, but after driving one I want one even more.
Here is a video of the bobbed deuce in action, and the shot of my XJ with 2.5 inches of lift next to it kind of gives you an idea of scale
