So its been that kind of week, weather-wise up here. Rain, cold, wind, etc.
Got weatherbug working on my phone for a couple days now. It is pretty persuasive about telling me bad weather is coming. An exclamation point in a red triangle pops up in the tool bar next to the temperature and stays there until I read the alert. Two days ago was the first time I saw it, and it was alerting me about a flash flood warning. Then yesterday it popped up again with a flash flood refresher and a high wind warning. Today, I have 3 alerts... flash flood, high wind, and "Areal Flood Advisory". Maybe the other flood warning is fake, I don't know.
Some text from the Areal warning will make you guys back east and north laugh... "Doppler Radars and rain gage reports continued to indicate widespread and moderate showers across most of Los Angeles county... with the strongest showers occurring over south-facing foothills near the station fire burn area," and here is the funny part to me, "rainfall rates were generally one quarter to one third inch per hour..."
I mean... I have three warnings... two about flood.... for 1/4 inch of rain per hour? Welcome to SoCal my friends.
Oh, the two window pictures are thanks to another SoCal thing. I have no gutters on my house...and even the side of the house with 3-foot deep eaves has rain blown into the windows from top to bottom making the view outside a bit blurry.
