I should just buy something and stop torturing myself. In the last month I've let a genuine barn-find CJ-6 with a PTO winch, a WWII GPW, a cool retro-pinstriped '79 CJ-5, and a couple others slip through my fingers. I could've bought any of them, but for some reason I keep procrastinating.
I feel like I really should buy a ZJ or a CJ-7. Only the right one hasn't come along. And I'm not so sure about this CJ-6. Somebody has poorly hacked the grille for a Saginaw conversion and it has a Chevy 327 installed in it. I'm not crazy about a small-block Chevy in a short-hood CJ or flattie. And the stock 19-spline Dana 44 rear axle with 2-piece shafts wouldn't last long with a V-8. Maybe if his price was better I'd be hooking up my trailer, but for now I'm not feeling it. Heck, I already built a CJ-6. I don't like going where I've gone before.
