Rollin' the Odometer!

Canon G3 Workhorse

I've been using this same Canon G3 as my main work camera for all my tech and install stories since about 2002 or 2003. I finally rolled the odometer yesterday!

I noticed this morning while reviewing some photos I snapped yesterday on one of my smaller 512MB flash cards the photo number has gone back to "0001". That means I've taken over 10,000 photos with this little sucker. It's my work-issued camera we got long before we even had a functioning web site for the magazines.

The company has since decided it's not worth repairing, so when something stops working on it I buy a used one off eBay out of my own pocket and pirate the parts I need. I've replaced the fold-out LCD display from a damaged G3 somebody in the office gave me, snagged the card reader door from an eBay purchase, and grabbed the lens and focus mechanism from yet another eBay G3. It's technically four cameras in one, but it's still chugging along and I have no plans on replacing it with something newer any time soon.
