Wrangler Weight

What's it Weigh?

I'm pretty good at guessing vehicle weights. Maybe that's because I own a pretty spendy set of Intercomp SW650 digital scales and use 'em quite a bit.

My buddy Verne recently asked a bunch of us at the office how much we thought his 4-cylinder TJ weighed. I guessed within 40- or 60-pounds of its actual weight. I'm about to make some mods to my YJ that will probably add a bit of weight, but I wanted to get a base line to start off with.

Intercomp race scale

Currently it has the stock 2.5L engine, a swapped-in AX15 tranny, NP231 with slip yoke eliminator and 3/4-inch chain, Tom Wood's Custom Drive Shafts front and rear shafts, 30-spline shafts in the Dana 30 and Dana 35 axles, a Superior truss on the rear axle, and 2.5-inch lift springs and five 31x11.50R15 Swampers on aluminum wheels. It's also got some aluminum rocker armor, Bestop seats, a Bestop Supertop, and a Warn Tabor 9K winch on a Smittybilt winch plate.

How much do you think it weighs like this? I got to within 14-pounds of the actual number. Can you do better?
