Jeep hot rods are on the rise. Some are kinda high-dollar, some are way-hack, and some just hit the nail on the head...like this Postal.

I don't know who built this. I saw it on the web site, www.ewillys.com. So why does this work when all others have failed? Eyeball, that's why.

Lots of times when guys build these things I always feel like they don't take a step back and give what they're building a good look. Even if different, a vehicle has to have good lines. It has to have proportion. Like a good story, it has to make sense and have a beginning, middle, and end.

Postal Jeep hot rod 2

Postal Jeep bodies are one of the most hideous affronts to Jeepdome ever created. The front grille is pushed out to fit the AMC's larger inline six without modifications to the early hood length of framerails. The sliding door, when open, gives an ungainly appearance. And the hard-top roof and rear tailgate make it look like a cube going down the road.

This guy sunk the grille and channeled the body so it'd sit lower on the framerails. I really dig the trumpet exhaust coming off what appears to be the 232 or 258 inline six. And adding the Willys Pickup-esque box behind the Postal tub was a stroke of genius. And the wide Mickey Thompsons out back pull it all together and hammer home the Hot Rod theme. And hey, a mailbox air cleaner can't hurt, right?
