Here's the follow-up to yesterday's blog on that military surplus trailer at my local steel supply store. Again, I have no idea how I'd use it, but the price was attractive and if nothing else, it's fun to tweak out on theoretical builds - even a trailer.
The air lines and canister are all there. So are the hookups, lights, and so on. It's complete and ready to go. The tires are even in good shape.
The axles are high-clearance torsional design and, although there's only one set of wheels, I'm betting they'd support a house.
The spacing between the tires is a bit narrow to fit a fully-built Jeep through. But you could drive over the fenders if you built a flat deck for hauling. Or, how about a cool off-road camper build with a bed, kitched, and small bathroom?
The two biggest bummers about this thing are the weights and the height of the pintle hitch. Unless you're towing it with a 2.5- or 5-ton truck (well, or maybe some southern-boy-type mud trucks or a SoCal Super Duty) the hitch would be above your rear window.
Check back tomorrow for two more photos, including the price of this thing.
