What's your favorite tool brand?

Unlike some of the other guys I work with, I prefer to keep my toolbox full of high-quality tools, that originate from US soil. However, I've also been know to shop at Harbor Freight for non-essential items or those that I take out on the trail with me. You can't find anything US-made at Harbor Freight, but you can't beat their awesome prices either.

This got me thinking, I wonder if the readers of Jp have a preferred brand of hand tools?

1. Hope you're not referring to Pete and me. Maybe your buddies at Four Wheeler run China tools, but my toolbox in my Jeep or garage is full of Snap-On, Matco, Mac, Kobalt, or even Craftsman. And Trasborg runs almost all Craftsman tools. We actually spin our own wrenches. Chinese *** don't last too long when you actually use it.

2. I hate to burst your bubble, but none of the tool companies you mentioned above actually build 100-percent of the tools they offer in the USA anymore. It's sad, and that's the point of this blog. I could be wrong, but the only tool company I'm awear of that still manufacturers 100-percent of their products in the USA is Wright Tool Company.

3. EDITOR FIGHT!!!! but i have snap on tools that my dad gave me when they were made in the USA, and harbor freight is cheap, like i bought a bunch of stuff there once because of all the coupons in the magazines,

4. The majority of my stuff (2.5 full roll-arounds) is Craftsman. But its Craftsman thats 20yrs old and made here. I do have some recent purchases of Kobalt and even some Harbor Freight. HB stuff is things I use very rarely...its hard to justify the extra $$ when I don't use it all the time. I did buy the HB 5 drawer service tool box a while back..its a damn nice unit too as a matter of fact.

5. Unfortunately I'm a broke airmen and I use crescent tools I bought at Costco, but so far no issues and I spin wrinches about 99% of my free time. I do shop at harbor freight, there cheep and may brake on you but I think for the most part you get your moneys worth and than some out of 'em.

6. Use Dads old craftsman stuff from when he was my age. The new craftsman stuff is crap, we are lucky for the ratchets to last a year or two before something goes wrong. I have been replacing it with Kobalt tools and have been fairly happen, nothing broken on them yet. Just hate having to walk into Lowes to get it, I would rather go to the local hardware store and support local small businesses.
