Air Goes Where?

On-Board Air Tanks

I don't run on-board air compressors in a lot of my Jeeps. And it's even rarer for me to use an air tank with an on-board compressor. I just never find a good place for 'em. Where do you put yours?

Normally I just bring along a Power Tank, but every so often I build an extended-range outback project (like Project Hatari! '71 CJ-6 shown) in which I want an unlimited supply of compressed air. For Hatari, I had an old Sun tank my old boss, Cole Quinnel, gave to me. I mounted it longitudinally under the passenger seat. That seems to be the best place to put an air tank on most CJ and Wrangler Jeeps.

I'm curious - what size tank have you used in your Jeep and where did you squirrel it away? Or do you normally just do what I do - and not bother running the tank?
