Used Jeep: On the Prowl

 It's been almost four years since I've owned a TJ. I think I'll start looking for another.

Project Steal-J 1997 Jeep Wrangler 2

 I'm not exactly sure if I'll find anything in my price range, but I've got some low-buck TJ ideas I want to explore. When I built my '97 TJ, Project Steal-J (pictured) I did a couple mods I ultimately wasn't happy with. Foremost of which was replacing the factory 32RH three-speed auto with a TH700R4. I think my next build will be different, but equally useful as a daily-driver and moderate trail explorer.

3. For starters, the converter stalled at a rediculously low rpm, so it was really sluggish getting out of the hole. It made the Jeep feel lethargic overall. The shifter rattled and it would hunt between 3rd and 4th gear 'cause the adjustable lockup converter switch was almost impossible to dial in correctly. A 4L60 or 4L60E would've been more usable, but much more expensive. In the end, an NV3550 or AX15 would've been a much better swap.
