I was hired by Cole Quinnell. He started over at Hot Rod Magazine and worked with David Freiburger in the early '90s before they both migrated over to the truck world. Regardless, David and Cole used to play a game called "It's Just Wrong" at car shows as they walked through rows of parked hot rods.

I've done the same thing since I was a kid, but in my mind I call it "there's the dumb". Same thing, really. Bug visor attached to the hood of a '71 Camaro? It's just wrong. Chrome Wal Mart racing tape along the rocker of your Wrangler? There's the dumb!

So when I was browsing craigslist this morning and found this ad for a '25 Maxwell loaded with wrongs and dumbs, I could only hope this guy never enters the world of Jeeps and 4x4s. Let's see how many you guys can come up with!

2. I love the creative use of the Brace for a crank- NOT! Too many "add-ons" (mirrors, etc.)and the side mount spare (color??) looks like an afterthought. it has potential; this guy missed it. I'd love to have it, but I'll bet his price is close to a Ridler winner...

3. Well, The passenger mirror jumps out at me, as does the odd-looking brass handle coming out of the cowl, but that could be factory for all I know. The gold spay paint on the spike wheels is rather fail; Not sure if that thing on the hood is a siren or a horn, aftermarket or factory but it's butt-ugly. And do my eyes deceive me, or is that a semi-modern four-speed sticking out of the floorboard? and what's up with the fabric-wrapped bench seat? Looks like they just pulled the material over the seat and frame stapled it on.

7. I say there's no such thing as "it's just wrong" or "there's the dumb" ... after all it's there car, truck, jeep or whatever and there money ... beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
